6yr old Courtney and her father, Josh went out with Carters Lake Guide Service on Saturday as a "back to school" trip for Courtney.  Despite the rainy overcast conditions Josh and Courtney had a great day on the water catching good numbers of Spotted Bass out of deep water.  Most fish were on submerged timber edges in 30-45ft of water.  Check out their biggest at 4.5lbs!  Great job Courtney! 

Pictured above at right is Kim Stricker of Hook n' Look and his MONSTER 7lb largemouth he caught while filming with Randy VanDam. (yes, of the superhero VanDam family). The fish fell victim to a Stike King Ocho. That is a northern strain largemouth, folks. At SEVEN POUNDS! Northern strain largemouth don't usually get that big, and this is a true giant. Not, bad anywhere, but especially for a Michigan fish!

This week's Pig comes from Ryan "Lifterpuller" Hanks fishing out of Lake Lanier. This spot hit a white Fishhead Spin out of 35ft of water. Ryan says the fish fought so hard he thought it was a striper!

If you're spot hunting, be sure to look deep as most summertime fish pull offshore into deep, cool water during daylight hours. Finesse techniques using SpotSticker dropshot and jighead worms are catching a great numbers right now.

Pictured is 8yr old Madelyn and her father Jeff.  Jeff is the proud owner of Dubb's BBQ and Steak House in Calhoun, GA and in many's opinion is 100% the best BBQ anywhere around here!  Check 'em out next time you're in Calhoun. 

Now for the fish.  Madelyn caught this big 4lb+ Spot while drop shotting with her dad aboard Carters Lake Guide Service on Tuesday.  The fish was caught in 30ft sitting over top of a brush pile mixed in with a school of 2lb-sized fish.  Louie pulled 8 or 10 other Spots off this pile with this guy mixed in the middle.  Madelyn also caught a handful of small 2-3lb Stripers and approx 20 other spots jigging spoons and drop shotting.  Great job Madelyn!!!
